Coronavirus Information

We ask all patients to consider using www.nhsinform.scot for general health information and self care advice.

Appointments

If you need to see a GP please continue to contact the surgery and you will be given a telephone appointment.  The member of staff answering your call will take some information from you about your reason for an appointment and pass this to the GP.  This is to allow the GP to prioritise the requests.

Prescriptions

You can continue to order your prescriptions in the usual way, by leaving a voicemail on our dedicated prescription option when contacting the surgery or by emailing fv.aberfoylebuchlyvieprescriptions@nhs.scot

Attending the Surgery

If you have been asked to attend the surgery please wear a face covering whilst attending your appointment.  If you do not have a face covering, a face mask will be given when you attend. Please arrive at the time of your appointment, please do not arrive early for your appointment

Organ and Tissue Donation Law In Scotland

The Human Tissue (Authorisation) (Scotland) Act 2019 was passed by the Scottish Parliament in July 2019.  The legislation provides for a 'deemed authorisation' or 'opt out' system of organs and tissue donation for transplantation.  The system came into effect on 26 March 2021.

Under the opt out system, if you die in circumstances where you could become a donor and have not recorded a donation decision, it may be assumed you are willing to donate your organs and tissue for transplantation.

You can find out more information about these changes and how to opt out at https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/uk-laws/organ-donation-law-in-scotland/

COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates Exemption

The following people are exempt from showing their COVID status in the required settings

  • Under 18s
  • Participant in vaccine trials
  • People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons

There is a very small number of people in Scotland who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, if you think you cannot receive the vaccine for medical reasons or questions about exemption certificates contact the COVID status helpline on 0808 196 8565.  THE GP CANNOT PROVIDE YOU WITH AN EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE.
